“Familiarity breeds contempt.”  What does that mean?  Contempt of court? In trouble? Here’s a more modern way to say it, “Familiarity breeds less respect.”  The closer you get to something the easier it is to take it for granted. You get so close to something.  You don’t see it anymore.
